Projects

AI-Powered Recipe Recommendation Project

github.com/saeed-alneyadi

Turning ingredients into personalized meals using AI-driven search.

As part of my graduation project, I led the development of a smart recipe recommendation engine that enables users to discover meals based on available ingredients. The web-based system utilized Elasticsearch, Docker, and Flask, integrating AI models to enhance accuracy and user experience. I worked within an eight-person team, adopting agile methodologies to coordinate development, testing, and iterative feature releases. This project sharpened my backend engineering, API design, and collaboration skills—culminating in a user-focused product ready for real-world use.

Through agile project cycles, I enhanced my understanding of FinTech systems and financial instruments, and gained experience collaborating on meaningful features for advisors and investors using cloud-based tools and Python-based services.

Education

The Ohio State University

BSc Computer Science

January 2021 - August 2024

Founded in 1870, The Ohio State University is one of the largest and most respected public research universities in the United States, known for its academic excellence, innovation, and global impact across science, engineering, and technology.

During my time at Ohio State, I developed a strong foundation in computer science and engineering, gaining both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience through internships and real-world projects. My coursework and personal initiatives strengthened my skills in areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data analytics. I particularly enjoyed working on a recipe recommendation web app using Flask, Docker, and Elasticsearch, and experimenting with trading bots and sentiment analysis. Beyond academics, I focused on maintaining a balance between performance, creativity, and self-discipline—skills I carry forward into every project and challenge I take on.

I spent a lot of my free time as a committee member of the Harvard Mountaineering Club taking on roles such as Trip Secretary and Vice-President.
